John Rudolph

LPC

Counselor/Therapist

John is a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) who had been working for the past 25+ years for the suicide prevention and psychiatric crisis hotline in Cuyahoga County. He was part of their Mobile Crisis outreach team as well. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from John Carroll University and a master's in community counseling from Kent State University. He has dealt with a wide variety of people and situations over those 25 years, and he uses a trauma-informed approach when speaking with clients and/or their loved ones. He believes strongly in treating others with dignity and respect. He realizes that many people have been wounded by others-through no fault of their own-and he has witnessed over and over the devastating effects that trauma can have on people. He has the ability to connect with others in a meaningful way and cherishes the work experiences he has had. He utilizes a direct and honest approach to helping others, and he believes that people are fundamentally good. He understands that treatment does work-and that people can recover from their issues to live a happier/more meaningful life. He tries to frequently remind himself of the Biblical directive to "Judge not, lest you be judged."

John is married and has a son and a daughter who are both in college. His wife is a social worker. He has been a Roman Catholic throughout his life and his faith is more important to him currently than at any time prior. He is a Eucharistic minister at his church, a member of the parish Social Concerns Committee, and he is part of the RCIA team that helps candidates to prepare to receive the Catholic sacraments at the Easter Vigil. He is a huge animal lover and supports/follows many charitable organizations, because it is truly in giving that we receive. He is also a big baseball fan and is awed by the physical and mental skills required to play the game. He has one brother and two sisters.
